Smallsea Closed October 20 through 25, 2010/Smallsea Holiday Season

Hi everyone, Our Fall Fling was lots of fun and we enjoyed seeing so many of Smallsea's friends and meeting new visitors.  The Sidewalk Sale was a success with lots of folks finding perfect little items for their houses.  We will have another sale in the second quarter of 2011.  
Next on the agenda is a short vacation.  We will be closed October 20th through October 25th. 

Get ready for Fall: Sidewalk Sale Saturday October 9th

Hi everyone, Let's get ready for Fall and the 2010 Holiday Season with a Sidewalk Sale!  Mark your calendars for Saturday, October 9th from 11:00 to 5:00.  Like the last sale there will items at all price ranges and this time a couple of houses and kits.  The last sale was a huge success and we almost sold out in just a couple of hours, so come early for the best selection and prices.  There will also be sweets and treats for all.

July Update from Diane B. Sidewalk Sale and Celebration- Lots of fun for everyone

We just hosted the celebration of Smallsea's expansion this past weekend and it was great fun.  Just a couple of weeks ago was Smallsea's Sidewalk Sale. It was a huge success.  We almost sold out in just a couple of hours! At both events, we were so happy to see so many of Smallsea's friends and to welcome for the first time lots and lots of new visitors. Many thanks to everyone that came.

Howards Bon Marche

Just added this month to Smallsea's High Street is Howards Bon Marche department store.  Based on an actual department store from Edwardian London, Howards combines both a drapers establishment and several departments devoted to home furnishings.  This was a massive project for us both in the building and the collecting.  Many wonderful artisan's contributed to the final completed building.  We thank them all for their extraordinary work.We are just photographing  Howards this week and will post images soon.   

Smallsea Celebrates New Wing to Museum

Hi all, We are finished the construction and the new wing is open.  There are some new buildings to see, most notably, the Explorers" Club which was published in Miniature Collector Magazine a few years ago but has not been on display since we moved to Carmel.  There are lots of new buildings in the works and you can see them in various stages of construction.  The Illustrated Smallsea News, Smallsea's newspaper should be finished by the end of June and will be followed up by the schoolmaster and schoolmistress' house and the school.  This summer wi

Construction has begun! Smallsea closed during May

Hi everyone, We are thrilled that construction on the new wing of the museum is now underway.  Yesterday the workers broke through the wall and the connection between the old space and new wing is a reality.  We begin work on building the display tables and front welcome desk this coming week.  During the construction, Smallsea is closed. If all goes as planned, the reopening of Smallsea ,in its bigger and better version, will  be the week of June 7th.  We are planning a party to celebrate.  I will post the date as soon as we are

BIg news for Smallsea

We just received a great piece of news for Smallsea this past week.  Starting this Spring, Smallsea and its story will be featured in Dolls House and Miniature Scene, a leading U.K. magazine.  How very exciting!  Please look for our articles starting with the May issue. 

Smallsea's expansion plans

Hello everyone,   As I just wrote last week, Smallsea is expanding into a  much larger space just adjacent to the current location.  We will be starting both the space construction and construction on the new buildings this month.

A Visit to Small Sea

I came upon Smallsea on a visit to Carmel this Thanksgiving! I am new to the miniature world and it was inspiring to see the quality and the details in the museum displays. Thanks for the website and please keep adding to the content for your fans.
